According to Gerald Graff and Cathy Birkenstein, the advantages of using the model “entering the conversation” in writing is that when used an individual will be able to become an advanced writer and an ingenious person of thought who can confidently engage in intellectual discussions and arguments. The model encourages the use of specific phrases such as “She argues, He claims that, and many more, as ways to get your point across. The model also contributes templates that can help put together ideas. Examples of these are shown on page 9 “ Although some might object that”, “In recent discussions of”, and “Though I concede that”.The use of these really help start your argument off right. One of the best advantages of the model is that the templates given are not considered a use of plagiarism. This is due to the fact that these phrases have been used by multiple sources.
  1. I do agree that the analysis of artwork can be beneficial to the analysis of other situations. The reason I agree is that when you analyze something, whether its a picture a building, or even a piece of clothing, you look for certain details and carefully observe every characteristic feature of whatever your viewing. Who says that ability cant is used elsewhere, such as a hospital where doctors need to analyze patients with symptoms for a potential sickness. Or a crime scene where a detective needs to analyze the area for possible evidence. Another situation where the use of analysis can help is retrieving lost objects. Everybody losses something once in a while but often whatever was lost just wasn’t carefully looked for. Ultimately training your eye to analyze artwork can be used to analyze many other situations, whether it involves your career or everyday life.
